Lightyear Wireless Business Review | Lightyear Wireless Phones, Complaints, Scam

You’ve probably heard a lot of buzz about Lightyear Wireless on the internet or from a friend/family member. And you really want to know what’s this THING all about. You keep hearing get paid to use your own cell phone.

I’m happy to give you the ins and out of Lightyear Wireless from a 3rd party perspective. Not only that but since I have a wireless background (worked for Verizon and AT&T) I can tell you if what they are offering is up to par.

Lightyear Wireless Background
Lightyear Wireless launched in July 29, 2008. Their parent company is Lightyear Network Solutions. They are a full-service telecommunications company founded in 1993. Lightyear is part of the Better Business Bureau.

Father and son team of Sherm and Josh Henderson are its founders. They are well known in the telecom industry.

Lightyear Wireless Product
Hence the name, the product is wireless service for your cell phone. They focus on two aspects: post paid and pre paid. For the post paid side they partnered with Verizon Wireless to use their network. For the pre paid side they partnered with Sprint to use their network. Although they use both companies networks they are still in competition with them. That is how Lightyear Wireless is able to offer their own plans which by the way are very competitive (more on that later).

What Lightyear Reps Do
1. Gather customers
2. Find others that want a business and teach them the same thing

Their claim to fame is that they don’t sell cell phones like other companies that I WILL MENTION (ACN, 5Linx, FHTM, etc). In other words Lightyear is not a reseller. They own the customers, handle the billing, tech support, etc.

Lightyear Wireless Tools and Training
When I saw this, I was pleased because I figured finally MLM companies are catching on with the internet marketing wave.

Mywirelessrep.com is a web marketing system = $49.99 month
- opportunity website
- multiple lead capture sites
- email auto respnosnder
- contact management system
- online wireless store
- complete retail store
- 25 free leads each month
- web hosting
- earn commission off this ($3-$18)

On top of that they have another system for those face to face enthusiasts. This one is back by a $1,000 Guarantee which is very impressive.
- follow the system of handing out 25 magazines & 25 dvds every month for 6 months. The cost is $49.95/mo. If u dont make at least $1k in total bonus income they’ll pay the difference

Lightyear Compensation Plan
Compensation plans can get difficult explaining at times so I will do my best to make it as simple as possible.

3 ways to earn income
- immediate bonus
- monthly residual
- leadership rewards

It costs $299 (maximum) one time fee to start (elite builder package) <–best option for serious networkers
or
$49 manager package <—only purchase if you will treat this as a hobby

Immediate Bonus
You get $100 for each rep you enroll when they activate 2 customer points and an additional $200 when they get 10 total customers in 1st 30 days.

If you are duplicating then an example will look like this
10 personal wireless customers = $250
get 10 in 30 days bonus = $200
help 3 reps do the same = $900
Total = $1350

Monthly residual
- earn 10% on personsal customers
- earn 1-4% off team’s customers

EX: 160 total team members x 10 customers each x $70 per month x 4% commission = $4,480 month residual

1000 total team members x 10 customers each x $70 per month x 4% commission = $28,000 month residual

Leadership Awards is too much too name. I can tell you its REAL nice.

Business Builder Bonus
- Earn $1k if you reach Regional Manager in 60 days
- Earn $5k if you reach Vice President in 120 days
- Earn $20k if you reach Senior Vice President in 180 days
- Earn $50k if you reach Presidential Director 365 days
- total earned is $76k

Pros and Cons
Pros
- web based marketing system has ALMOST everything needed to succeed at marketing online
- business builder bonus is achieveable and lucrative
- honest and ethical company
- competitive pricing plans
- parent company has been around for over 10 years
- founders know what they are doing as far as running a business
- uses the best network in the US for service (Verizon)

Cons
- phones are antiquated and not a large selection at all
- although you get a web based marketing system if you don’t join the RIGHT team you will be lost on what to do and how to learn internet marketing
- still have to have a huge downline of close to a thousand or more in order to have a 5 figure month residual

Adrian Keeping It Real
I personally come from a wireless background. Like I mentioned before I worked for Verizon Wireless and AT&T. I’d like to think I have an insiders understanding of what customers want. What I am about to say is speaking for MOST people NOT ALL.

Most people:
- want to see someone face to face if they have a billing issue and not speak to them over the phone
- want the latest phones (iPhones, Blackberrys, Palm, Androids) and Lightyear doesn’t have them
- will not switch to another carrier IF its not the heavy hitters Verizon and AT&T even if their pricing is competitive. (Sprint and TMobile are not even competition anymore)
- will cancel their contract to get the latest and greatest phone (saw it all day everyday selling the iPhone which is the hottest phone out there)
- to sign someone up they have to be a new customer or wait for their existing contract w/another carrier to end

As a Lightyear Wireless distributor your job is to find the ones that don’t fall in the above category. It is very doable because people in Lightyear are doing it every day. The approach and method that you take will determine how long you stay in business.

Hey Adrian, I'd like to point out that most of your review is right on point. However, Lightyear Wireless Does have Blackberry phones, and they are inking a deal with Apple now for the new iPhone – so you do not need to be an AT&T Customer to get an iPhone. As for Sprint not being a Heavy-Hitter, I'd beg to differ with you a little – being that Sprint now has 8% more customers than AT&T, whom you mentioned as one of the “Heavy Hitters.”

The rest of your share on Lightyear Wireless is on point and exact. I have been with Lightyear Wireless for a while now, and I have to tell you, it has changed my life 180 degrees. I love it, and not sure what I would have done without it smacking me in my face!

Thanks Adrian…
